RAY LONG

My name is Ray Long. I am an ACC coach thru the Intentional Coaching Federation. I am currently moving toward my MCC credential. I hold certification as an Addiction Recovery Coach. I am also certified by the Institute for Life Coaching as a Trauma and grief recovery coach. The State of Illinois certified me as a  Recovery Support Specialist and a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist 2021. I am currently working as a Pastoral Counselor and Addiction Recovery Coach. I serve as community coordinator of a ministry known as Celebrate Recovery.

In 2009 I was certified as an Interim Ministry Specialist in the United Methodist Church. I was ordained Elder in 1993. I have served churches in the former Southern Illinois Conference and Illinois Great Rivers Conference since 1985. I am a graduate of McKendree College, Eden Theological Seminary, and St. Paul School of Theology with a Doctor of Ministry in Congregational Development. I have completed all seven modules in the Coach Training for Leaders. I am  credentialed thru the Institute for Life Coaching and the State of Illinois.

I have been married to Christy for 29 years. We have three adult children. I am motivated by my love for Jesus and all those with hurts, habits, and hangups. I seek to help individuals and groups grow in their own love for God and one another as they discover new life in a variety of recovery areas. My life verse is Romans 5:8, “But God proves God’s love for us in that while we still were sinners, Christ died for us.”
